Silly String

Did you know silly string can save lives? That's right, that novelty can of foamy string has the ability to save your life. Well maybe not your life, not unless you are one of our fine soldiers serving overseas in Iraq.

Apparently our high tech military has found a great alternative use for this $2 can of foam. The article speaks of how the Marines have learned to improvise by spraying the string through doorways and across rooms before they enter to clear the building. The light weight string shoots out approximately 10 feet and is light enough to just hang over the trip wires attached to bombs or other IEDs.

Unfortunately silly string is in limited supply over in Iraq (I guess they don't have dollar stores or Spencer Gifts) so one Marines mom, Marcelle Shriver has made it her goal to get our troops this ever important tool.

You've got to hand it to our military!
